Day 1

Delhi Arrival, Welcome to India!

Your Arrival Time (?) Our office representative will meet and greet you in typical Indian style at Indira Gandhi International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Delhi. In the evening, we will meet at the hotel for a trip briefing and talk about your upcoming programme.

Day 2

Delhi to Mussoorie.

At. 08:00 AM: Start your journey early in the morning to avoid the traffic rush around Delhi. Mussoorie is approximately 280 kilometres from Delhi, and the drive usually takes about 7-8 hours. Ensure you have all your essentials for the trip, including travel documents, a basic first aid kit, snacks, and water for the journey. The most common route to Mussoorie is via the Delhi - Saharanpur - Roorkee - Dehradun - Mussoorie road. Enjoy the changing landscape as you move from the plains of Delhi to the foothills of the Himalayas. The journey becomes particularly scenic as you approach Dehradun. You might stop for lunch in Dehradun (if time permits and traffic is low), which offers various dining options. 

On reaching Mussoorie, check into your hotel and take some time to rest after the long journey. Mussoorie is situated at an altitude of about 2,000 metres (6,500 feet), so take it easy for the first few hours to adjust to the altitude. Take a leisurely walk along the Mall Road in Mussoorie. It's a bustling street lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Day 3

Mussoorie Sightseeing.

Today you'll be exploring the beautiful hill station of Mussoorie. Known as the "Queen of the Hills," Mussoorie offers breathtaking views, charming colonial architecture, and a variety of attractions. 

Head out early to Kempty Falls, one of Mussoorie's most famous attractions. It's a picturesque waterfall located about 15 kilometres from the main town. Spend some time enjoying the cascading water and the surrounding greenery. You can also take a refreshing dip in the water. After Kempty Falls, visit the Company Garden, a well-maintained botanical garden with a variety of flora, a mini lake, and walking trails. It's a great spot for relaxation and photography. You might also want to enjoy a paddle boat ride on the small lake which is optional and will cost extra add-ons.

For lunch, head back to Mussoorie and try some local Garhwali dishes or other cuisines at one of the restaurants on Mall Road. Post lunch, visit Gun Hill, the second-highest point in Mussoorie. You can reach the top on a thrilling cable car ride, offering panoramic views of the Himalayan range. Spend some time soaking in the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Take a leisurely walk along Camel's Back Road, named after a rocky outcrop that resembles a camel’s hump. The road offers serene views of the Doon Valley and the Himalayas. It's also a great place to catch a beautiful sunset, with the hills providing a stunning backdrop.

Head back to Mall Road in the evening. It's the hub of Mussoorie, with shops, cafes, and arcades. Shop for souvenirs like woolen clothes, books (Ruskin Bond's famous Cambridge Book Depot is here), and local handicrafts.

Day 4

Drive to Rishikesh, Sightseeing.

Today you'll be travelling from Mussoorie to Rishikesh and then exploring the various attractions in Rishikesh. Known for its spiritual vibe, yoga centres, and adventure sports, Rishikesh offers a unique experience.

At. 08:00 AM: Start your journey early in the morning. The drive from Mussoorie to Rishikesh is about 75-80 kilometres and takes approximately 2-3 hours. The drive is scenic, passing through mountainous terrain and offering views of the Himalayan foothills. Once in Rishikesh, check into your hotel and freshen up. Grab a quick snack or early lunch at one of the local eateries. Rishikesh has many cafes that serve healthy, vegetarian food. Visit the iconic suspension bridges - Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula. These bridges are popular for their religious significance and offer picturesque views of the Ganges. Head to Triveni Ghat, a sacred bathing spot on the Ganges known for its spiritual ambience.  Visit the famous Beatles Ashram, also known as the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram. Explore the art-filled meditation huts and the history associated with the Beatles' 1968 visit.

In the evening attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan, an ashram located on the banks of the Ganges. This spiritual ritual, performed at sunset, is a captivating experience with chanting, bells, and lamps. Enjoy dinner at one of the riverside cafes in Rishikesh, offering a variety of cuisines with a view of the Ganges. After a long day, get some rest at your hotel, recharging for the adventures of the following day.

Day 5

Haridwar Day Excursion.

Visit a day trip from Rishikesh to Haridwar, another significant spiritual destination. Haridwar, known for its temples and ghats, is approximately 20 kilometres from Rishikesh and easily accessible by road. 

Have breakfast at your hotel. Begin your day with an early morning drive from Rishikesh to Haridwar, which takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Visit the Mansa Devi Temple, one of the most famous temples in Haridwar, located atop the Bilwa Parvat. You can reach the temple by ropeway or by hiking. Next, visit the Chandi Devi Temple, situated on the Neel Parvat. This temple is also accessible by ropeway or short hike. Enjoy lunch at one of Haridwar's many eateries, offering a range of vegetarian food options. Visit Har Ki Pauri, the most famous ghat in Haridwar. Witness the footprints of Lord Vishnu on a stone wall. It's believed that taking a dip here purifies one's soul. Attend the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. This spiritual ceremony, with chanting, fire, and the offering of lamps to the Ganges, is a profound experience. Soak in the spiritual atmosphere as the chants and the lights create a mesmerizing ambience. 

Explore Bara Bazaar, a bustling market where you can buy religious items, souvenirs, and sample local snacks. Return to Rishikesh and enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants or cafes. After returning to your hotel in Rishikesh, relax and rest to rejuvenate for the next day's activities.

Rishikesh to Nainital.

Today, you'll be travelling from Rishikesh to Nainital. Nainital, known for its beautiful lakes and serene mountainous landscapes, is a significant shift from the spiritual ambience of Rishikesh. 

Begin your day early, as the journey from Rishikesh to Nainital is approximately 260 kilometres and can take around 7-8 hours by road depending upon traffic. Consider taking a packed breakfast from your hotel in Rishikesh or stopping en route for a meal. The journey to Nainital usually goes through cities like Haridwar, Kashipur, and Kaladhungi. The route offers varied landscapes, from the plains of Haridwar to the hilly terrain as you approach Nainital. Plan for short breaks at scenic spots or local eateries to stretch your legs and enjoy some local snacks. 

On reaching Nainital, check into your hotel and take some time to relax after the long journey. You can have a light lunch at your hotel or explore nearby cafes. Once you're refreshed, take a leisurely walk along Mall Road, which runs alongside Naini Lake. This area is bustling with shops, restaurants, and street vendors. If time permits, enjoy a boat ride in Naini Lake, a serene experience with picturesque views of the hills surrounding the lake. Sunset from a vantage point like Snow View Point or Tiffin Top (Optional), which can be reached by cable car or a short trek. Nainital Sightseeing.

Today you'll be immersed in the beauty and tranquility of Nainital, a charming hill station known for its emerald lakes, lush greenery, and colonial charm. 

Start your day with a serene boat ride on Naini Lake, the centrepiece of the town. The lake is surrounded by hills, offering a picturesque setting. Visit the Naina Devi Temple, located at the edge of Naini Lake. This temple holds significant religious value and offers a peaceful environment. After visiting the temple, take a leisurely walk along Mall Road, which is lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants. Shop for souvenirs like candles, woollens, and handicrafts, and don't forget to try some local snacks. Enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants on Mall Road, or try some authentic Kumaoni cuisine at a local eatery.

Post lunch, head to Snow View Point. You can take the aerial ropeway or hike up to this popular vantage point, which offers stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas. Next, visit the Eco Cave Gardens, a network of interconnected rocky caves and hanging gardens that offer a unique experience. Make your way to Tiffin Top, also known as Dorothy's Seat, a terraced hilltop offering panoramic views of Nainital and its surrounding hills. It's an ideal spot for photography and enjoying the tranquility of nature. Spend the evening relaxing by Naini Lake. The calm water and the cool breeze create a soothing ambience. Day 8

Nainital to Delhi.

You'll be concluding your journey by travelling back from Nainital to Delhi. This day primarily involves the journey back, but with proper planning, you can still make the most of it. Plan to start early from Nainital, as the drive back to Delhi is approximately 300-350 kilometres and can take around 8-9 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions. 

Have an early breakfast in Nainital before you start your journey. The drive from Nainital to Delhi passes through the plains of Uttar Pradesh and offers a change in landscape from the hilly terrains of Uttarakhand. Plan for a few stopovers for refreshments and lunch. There are several dhabas and restaurants along the way where you can enjoy local North Indian cuisine. Moradabad and Gajraula are popular stopover points on the route where you can have lunch. These places are known for their variety of eateries and dhabas. Continue your journey post-lunch. It's a good idea to take short breaks if needed to avoid fatigue, especially if you are driving. 

As you approach Delhi, be prepared for possible traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. On reaching Delhi, check into your hotel if you are staying over, or head to your home if you reside in Delhi. If you have the energy, explore some of Delhi's famous cuisines for dinner. The city offers a vast array of dining options, from street food to fine dining.

Departure.

Have your breakfast at the hotel and explore the nearby market if you have some spare time from your onward flight. Your transportation service will pick you up 4 hours before your flight to drop you off at the airport, as it usually takes 1 hour to drive from your hotel location. We wish you a safe flight back home and hope to serve you again on another trip.
