Weather in Nepal

Nepal's climate varies greatly due to its diverse topography and altitude, leading to a wide range of weather conditions throughout the country. The climate is typically divided into four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

Spring, which spans from March to May, offers an ideal opportunity to visit Nepal thanks to its pleasant and mild weather. Temperatures range from 16°C to 23°C (61°F to 73°F) at lower elevations, with cooler temperatures at higher altitudes. The current season is perfect for trekking, with clear skies and beautiful rhododendron forests in full bloom. Mountaineering expeditions are popular now too. In Nepal, heavy rainfall and occasional landslides happen during the summer season (June-August) due to the monsoon, especially in the lower regions. Despite the rain, some areas can still reach 30°C (86°F). The greenery and rice terraces are stunning this season.

The best time to visit Nepal is during autumn, which spans from September to November. After the monsoon season, the skies have cleared up, revealing stunning mountain views. The weather is consistently mild, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 24°C (59°F to 75°F). The pleasant climate and breathtaking scenery make it the peak season for trekking, cultural tours, and wildlife safaris. Kathmandu and Pokhara, situated at lower elevations, experience milder temperatures ranging from 9°C to 12°C (48°F to 54°F). Winter is ideal for lower-altitude treks, cultural tours, and wildlife safaris in the Terai region.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why should I do yoga in Nepal?

Yoga is believed to have originated in ancient India a thousand years ago. Because of its influence, Nepal has had a long-running history with yoga since ancient times, which has made it a great yoga destination for travellers all around the world. Yoga is more than just an exercise but mental peace, and it is associated with stories, mantras, breathing techniques, philosophies, and spiritual energies of the five elements (water, air, fire, earth, and ether) to balance yoga and the body.

  • What should I bring for yoga?

Usually, a six-foot-long yoga mat is the most required piece of equipment for yoga, which will be provided if necessary, ensuring a hygienic surface for practice. Additionally, wearing comfortable and stretchable yoga pants is recommended, allowing for ease of movement and flexibility during yoga sessions. Advisably, strictly avoid revealing yoga clothes while practicing yoga at Namo Buddha Monastery.

  • Where will we do the yoga?

Most of your yoga sessions will take place in mentioned hotels/resorts you will stay in. While in Pokhara, one of your yoga sessions will be in the World Peace Pagoda, a Buddhist stupa built in Japanese style at the top of Andu Hill. Here, your yoga will be accompanied by a serene atmosphere and breathtaking Himalayan vistas. You will also have a chance to stay at Namo Buddha Monastery. You have to follow the strict rules of the monastery during your stay. The monastery has a timetable outlining all the activities, from prayer to meditation, that guests are expected to follow during their stay.

  • What makes this tour a luxury tour?

The accommodation throughout your tour will be at 5-star rated hotels/resorts, as mentioned, but sometimes, luxury can’t just be defined as the standard and comfort one travels with but as a lifetime experience one could ever get. How luxurious is it to have a yoga session with those mighty mountains? How luxurious it is to have peace of mind and soul within the lap of the Himalayas, surrounded by nature. We couldn't be more than happy to share this luxurious experience with you.

  • What kind of clothes should I bring for my stay in the monastery?

When visiting a monastery, it's important to dress modestly and respectfully to adhere to the cultural and religious values of the monastery. Generally, go for clothing that covers your shoulder, cleavage, and knee, and choose neutral colours to avoid appearing flashy. Avoid wearing revealing or tight-fitting clothes.
