Thimphu, the capital of the country, proudly displays its rich history through its remarkable political offices, architectural structures, and ancient landmarks. This place is located in the western central part of Bhutan, enclosed by hills and a picturesque valley-like landscape. The views from anywhere inside Thimphu are stunning, showcasing the country's abundant greenery and amazing geography. Bhutan boasts a wide range of ancient landmarks, such as religious sites, palaces, fortresses, and Bhutanese arts and crafts. Thimphu offers a diverse range of attractions, including Buddhist religious sites, protected animal reserves, and breathtaking viewpoints, which you will explore during your sightseeing programme. Here is a list of some of the places you will visit:

Start your sightseeing programme with Tachogang Lhakhang, which is a charming monastery nestled along the Paro-Thimphu highway, providing incredible views of the incredible mountains and energetic river. To access Lakhang, one has to cross an iron bridge above the beautiful river, which is another attraction to the site. The iron suspension bridge was constructed by a notable historical figure, Thangtong Gyalpo, who is a master at constructing bridges. Another is Tashichho Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and fortress located on the northern edge of Thimphu city. This structure has been serving as the government seat of Bhutan since 1968, making it a significant establishment. The entire building is exquisitely designed with a white-washed exterior and a red roof, creating an incredible backdrop. This architecture truly shines in the evening as the lights transform this site into something extraordinary. The next amazing point is Kuensel Phodrang, also known as Buddha's Point, which is situated atop a small hill, providing a breathtaking panoramic view of the Thimphu Valley. There is a place where you can find a truly remarkable sight: a massive sitting Buddha statue, one of the few of its kind in the world. The giant statue houses a multitude of bronze and gilded gold statues, each intricately portraying miniature Buddhas.

The National Memorial Chorten is a unique attraction that stands out from regular Chortens. It was built as a memorial to honour the third king, Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje. Although it is a memorial chorten, it does not contain any cremated body parts inside the monument, making it a unique and wonderful memorial site. The entire landmark is exquisitely crafted, drawing inspiration from Tibetan architecture with its pristine white exterior and gleaming golden apex. After that, the next place you will visit is Motithang Takin Preserve, a wildlife sanctuary nestled within the Thimphu Valley, dedicated to the protection of Bhutan's national animal, the Takin. The significance of these creatures in Bhutanese mythology adds to their preciousness.

Punakha Attraction

Punakha, another district in Bhutan, is just as incredible and peaceful as Thimphu. Punakha, located in Bhutan, is a city rich in historical sites and teeming with diverse flora and fauna. Punakha boasts the presence of two significant rivers in Bhutan, Mo Chu and Pho Chu, which are surrounded by stunning vegetation that blooms during the spring season, resulting in a truly enchanting ambience.

During your journey from Thimphu to Punakha, you will encounter a charming pass at an elevation of 3,100m called Dochula Pass. From Dochula Pass, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Thimphu valley and majestic snow-capped mountains. The panoramic view it offers and the numerous small Chortens situated on top of the hill create a captivating and enigmatic atmosphere. The pass is adorned with a remarkable collection of 108 chortens, giving it a truly distinctive atmosphere that sets it apart. In Punakha, you will also visit the famous Punakha Dzong, which is located at the confluence of two prominent rivers, Mo Chu and Pho Chu. Trongsa Attraction

Trongsa, an incredible place inside Bhutan, is also known as the "new village" in the native language. It is truly a stunning destination, featuring amazing natural beauty and dazzling architecture. Throughout the ages, the Wangchuck Dynasty has held a position of authority, skilfully overseeing the eastern and central regions of Bhutan. They have held the title of kings of Bhutan since 1907. Several landmarks hold immense historical importance, which you will have the opportunity to visit.

You will start your sightseeing programme at Chendebji Chorten, located in Trongsa, which is a Buddha stupa situated on the west side of the district. It was constructed in the 18th century, making it one of the oldest landmarks. The architectural design of this place is quite different from what you normally see inside Bhutan. The Chorten is inspired by a Nepalese stupa called Boudhanath Stupa, which is one of the biggest Buddhist stupas in the world. According to Bhutanese mythology, there is a belief that this chorten serves as a protective barrier against evil spirits. Next is Trongsa Dzong; the word Trongsa translates to ‘’the new village’’ in its native word. It is a gorgeous small town surrounded by a wild, rocky area with a scenic backdrop of the valley.
